Three teenagers survived a violent rollover crash on a remote road, but their 17-year-old driver did not. John Fiedelman was pronounced dead at the scene on Gold Run Road after his Jeep lost control, traversed the roadway, and overturned. The Summit County Coroner identified the victim, a Summit High senior who had just returned to the area this school year.

In the hush of Gold Run Road, beneath the waning light,
A tragic tale unfolds—three lives spared, one lost to night.
A Jeep, once full of hope, of dreams yet to be spun,
Met its fate in silence, in a moment cruelly undone.

John Fiedelman, young and bright, a beacon in his prime,
A Summit High senior fresh, just beginning to climb.
Returned anew to familiar halls, where laughter used to flow,
Yet fate decreed otherwise—his journey cut so low.

Seventeen summers, a life so full, now silenced in the dark,
A star extinguished suddenly, leaving only a mark.
His friends—fifteen, sixteen, and eighteen—wounded but alive,
Carried from the wreckage, their spirits strained to survive.

The road, a quiet witness to the chaos and despair,
Bears silent witness to the tragedy that hangs in the air.
A reminder that in moments fleeting, life’s fragile thread can break,
Leaving hearts in mourning, with memories left to ache.

In the wake of such sorrow, the town’s collective grief
Resonates like distant thunder, a shared, unspoken belief—
That amidst the darkness, hope remains a fragile spark,
A yearning for comfort in the cold and lonely dark.

School halls now echo with the whispers of the loss,
Counselors gather round, to help the pain defy its cost.
Students, teachers, neighbors—each bearing a piece of the ache,
Striving to find meaning, in the shadows, for their sake.

We hold in our hearts the family, torn by grief so deep,
Whose love and memories now in silence we keep.
Their son, their light, forever etched in every dawn,
Their loss a heavy weight—yet in our hearts, he lives on.

This tragedy, a stark reminder of life’s fleeting grace,
Calls us to cherish moments, to hold loved ones in embrace.
To find strength in sorrow, to honor those we've lost,
And to remember that love endures beyond what’s at a cost.

In the quiet, amidst the tears, let compassion be our guide,
A testament to resilience, with hope standing beside.
For even in the darkness, a new dawn can arise,
A promise that life’s beauty remains—beyond the skies.

So let us mourn with open hearts, and stand in unified grace,
To honor John’s memory, and to heal this wounded place.
For in every ending, a new beginning softly stirs—
A testament to life’s resilience, in the whispers of the universe.
