The Amber Alert that began with fears for a missing 6-year-old ended with the relief of knowing she was safe, as officials confirmed Ruby Lehmann was found unharmed and her uncle, 34-year-old Jordan Coyle, is now in custody.

The Amber Alert that initially instilled fear and urgency in the community concluded with the reassuring news that 6-year-old Ruby Lehmann was located unharmed, and her uncle, 34-year-old Jordan Coyle, was taken into custody.

The resolution to this tense situation brought relief to a community that had been on edge since Ruby’s disappearance was reported Thursday afternoon from her grandmother’s home in Almond, Wisconsin.

The incident began when Ruby was reported missing under suspicious circumstances. Authorities quickly mobilized a statewide search effort, alerting the public and law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin.

The urgency was heightened due to Coyle’s status as a registered sex offender, which increased concerns about Ruby’s safety and the potential danger she was in. Law enforcement officials immediately identified Coyle as the primary suspect and issued an Amber Alert to enlist the help of the community in locating him and the missing child.

In the alert, authorities provided detailed descriptions of both Ruby and Coyle. Ruby was described as a small girl with brown hair, last seen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans. Coyle was identified as a white male with a criminal history linked to sex offenses, making the case particularly serious.

Law enforcement also issued a description of the vehicle they believed Coyle was driving—a white 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck with a toolbox in the bed and peeling paint on the tailgate, revealing the silver metal underneath. This vehicle was considered a critical piece of evidence, especially since the suspect could be using it to evade law enforcement or hide Ruby.

The authorities urged residents, neighbors, and hunters in the area to remain vigilant. They were advised to check their property, trail cameras, and any potential hiding spots for signs of the vehicle or the suspect.

The community responded swiftly, with many residents volunteering to assist in the search by sharing sightings, checking their own property, and keeping an eye out for the truck. The coordinated effort demonstrated the community’s concern and desire to ensure Ruby’s safe return.

As the hours passed, hope grew that the child would be found safe. Just before 6 p.m. on September 13, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office announced that the Amber Alert had been canceled. This news came as a relief to families and community members who had been anxiously awaiting updates.

Law enforcement confirmed that Ruby was located unharmed and that Coyle had been taken into custody without incident. The details surrounding her recovery were not immediately disclosed, but the community’s relief was palpable as news spread.

The swift action of law enforcement, combined with community vigilance, played a vital role in ensuring a positive outcome. The case underscored the importance of Amber Alerts in mobilizing resources and public cooperation during critical moments.

It also highlighted the ongoing need for awareness about the risks posed by registered sex offenders and the importance of community vigilance in protecting vulnerable children.

In the aftermath, officials reiterated their gratitude to the residents and volunteers who contributed to the search effort. They also emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activity promptly.

Ruby Lehmann’s safe return marked the successful resolution of a potentially tragic situation, but it also served as a reminder of the collective responsibility communities bear in safeguarding their children.

The community’s relief and gratitude were evident, and they can now focus on healing, knowing that Ruby is safe and Coyle is in custody, facing the legal consequences of his actions.
